The First Celebration of the Satellite Tracking Day

Gurtam celebrated a new official holiday - a day of fleet management and GPS tracking. Before Gurtam's initiative there was no special day for specialists who work in a field of fleet tracking.

Minsk, Belarus, June 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Gurtam (http://gurtam.com/en/) celebrated a new official holiday - a day of fleet management and GPS tracking. Before Gurtam's initiative there was no special day for specialists who work in a field of fleet tracking. But in November 2011 a vote was suggested on the company's forum to choose a date for a professional holiday. June 2 was chosen among other variants because of the history it carries. 2nd of June is a birthday of the Baikonur Spaceport, from which the first satellite of the Earth was launched. Afterwards an official letter was signed by 46 companies working in the field of fleet management and supported the idea of creating a professional holiday. This special application was sent to the relevant ministries of the four countries: Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan hoping of success. The ministers' feedback pleased them greatly and strengthened the expectation that by the next year Gurtam partners and colleagues would celebrate such a wonderful holiday as The Satellite Tracking Day.

Gurtam team went for a big corporate picnic in order to celebrate this day. "We all had a great time. Gurtam plans to make this celebration our company's annual tradition," said Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Gurtam's CMO.

"A professional holiday should be considered an essential part of any professional field rather than a simple formality. These days create a feeling of belonging to a professional community which share common standards of work, values and ideals. The sphere of fleet management and GPS tracking is developing rapidly and the number of people working there is constantly growing. All this makes us think of a special day to honor everyone who works in a promising sphere of fleet tracking," explained in the company.
