Howard Gallery of Fine Art is Pleased to Announce that Bucks County Artist Susan Ketcham Earns Her Signature Membership Status

Howard Gallery of Fine Art representing artist Susan Ketcham has earned a signature membership with the Pastel Society of America.

New Hope, PA, June 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Bucks County pastel artist, Susan Ketcham, has been elected as a “Signature Member” with the Pastel Society of America. Sue has been exhibiting with Howard Gallery for the past 3 years. She has been painting for more than 30 years, primarily self-taught, but has studied with Master Pastelist June Maxwell.

Mrs. Ketcham’s work invites you to share her reverence for nature and her personal philosophy of beauty existing in the seemingly simple objects of everyday life. Susan’s paintings have been exhibited in numerous galleries and shows, have won awards, and are in private and corporate collections in this country and abroad. Her work has been published in “Best of Pastel”, Rockport Publishers. This is a compilation of works by 163 artists from all over the world who are masters in the medium of pastel.

Pastel Society of America is an association of professional and emerging artists who work in the pastel medium. Founded in 1972 by Flora Giffuni, PSA is the oldest pastel society in existence in America and has been elected to the “Archives of American Art” in the Smithsonian Institution.

PSA is a professional organization setting a model for standards of excellence well recognized by the art community here and abroad. The society’s name is synonymous with excellence, and a Signature Member is privileged to distinguish their signature with the initials PSA.

Through classes, workshops and demonstrations they attract and encourage new talent in the use of pastels. PSA's annual juried exhibitions at the National Arts Club provide viewers with an opportunity to appreciate pastel as a lasting, permanent art form.
