Summer is here, and for most of the nation this is Senior Portrait season. You may want to consider having professional portraits done, considering how long these stay around. A professional photographer gives us eight tips for better Senior Portraits, and suggests we do them now, during the summer.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, June 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Summer is here, and for most of the nation this is Senior Portrait season!

Whenever some celebrity's past is unearthed, we are reminded that those pictures stay around for a long time, even decades after our graduation. You may want to consider having professional portraits done that better reflect who you are.

Huba Rostonics is the owner and founder of SeniorPortraitsFlorida.com. He suggests to get your portraits done during the Summer, when you are not as busy and you can have them ready for the new school year. "As soon as school starts, you are going to be very busy with so many things, including college applications, etc., but at the same time you don't want to neglect your looks! You should be looking into this now, before it gets busy again," said Rostonics.

SeniorPortraitsFlorida.com is offering several specials for those that want to make the most out of their Senior Portraits. He was emphatic when asked for some tips to make them memorable:

Location, location, location:
It is a picture of you, what is going to make it different is the background and the surroundings. Look for contrasting backgrounds and unusual settings. Texture is always interesting, old, run-down buildings and weathered walls always offer good opportunities to make a great picture.

Make a forward looking sentence:
That thing that you dream of being, can be a great inspiration. Creating an image that shows yourself where you want to be can be one of the strongest ways to set your goals. Talk to your photographer, he will be able to assist you in creating the image for you.

Look up:
Emulate your heroes, impersonate them. Paying homage to those you admire can lead to fun images.

Keep it simple:
Whatever you do, the simpler you keep it, the easiest will be to put it together.

Look for the right time:
Lighting is fundamental in photography, some may argue is the only thing. Take your pictures before 8 AM or after 6 PM (during the Summer!), this will give you more interesting lighting and longer shadows.

Dress up:
Wear something special, skirts, hats, overcoats, everything goes. try to coordinate colors, however if it has to be there you can always go B&W. Have also several outfits ready to match the background.

Get all the help you can:
A makeup artist knows how to get the best out of you. Getting one makes for better photographs almost 100% of the time.

Change that habit:
Don't wait until the last minute. When somebody asks for them, it is going to be already too late.
