Masroor Fantany Named Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Houston, TX, June 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The president of Sears Garage Door Houston, Masroor Fatany, has been named the 2012 Houston District SBA (Small Business Administration) Young Entrepreneur of the year. Having early exposure to entrepreneurship at the age of 10, Masroor has been an entrepreneur ever since and he hasn’t looked back. He went on service calls with his father who had an air conditioning business and quickly took to the tasks of diagnosing problems and offering excellent customer service as well. The air conditioning business wasn’t the only family business that Masroor worked at; he also worked in a family retail packaging and shipping business. As a college student, Masroor and his father opened Unlimited Calling, Inc., where they sold pre-paid Cricket Wireless products.

Mr. Fatany graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and a Master’s degree in Finance. He put his degree to use for approximately one year, but then the entrepreneurial bug crept back and pulled Masroor away. Masroor decided to launch his own business, as he decided to become a full-time entrepreneur. After being chosen by Sears to be open a franchise, Masroor opened his Sears Garage Door Houston franchise. In 2010, after one year of operation, Sears Home Services Garage Solutions recognized Masroor’s franchise as the fastest growing location in 2010.

Masroor is currently 25 years old, and he is known for being the youngest Sears franchise owner that is currently the fastest growing garage door services franchise. Masroor is working on refining his skills as a mentor, and is also active in local business organizations. These organizations include the Greater Houston Partnership-Business Leadership Council, Texas State CPAs, and many more.
