)-- Socitm, the Society of IT Managers in the public sector, publish the annual Better Connected 2012 report into the quality and performance of 433 local authority websites.
Guildford Borough Council, who use GOSS iCM (intelligent Content Management) to power their website, were praised by reviewers for a number of significant ‘Top Task’ features and how this helps deliver services to the community.
The refuse and recycling section was highlighted as “Excellent - very easy to find this information and added value. Guildford Borough Council’s site offers a text messaging service that will notify you the night before each of your refuse and recycling days.”
Guildford Borough Council was also praised for a, “Good implementation of an online planning application [section] with clear explanation about how to comment” and also for the online council tax payment section as providing a “clear explanation of how to pay.”
The reviewers also highlighted the Council as a good example of content provision “The overall content of the site is good.”
