Apopka, FL, June 27, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Ken Croston did not envision himself getting "locked-in" to the security and electronic locksmith business, but after a dozen years he can't see himself
The owner and CEO of Apopka-based World Class Installations, (WCI), was introduced to the security industry by a roommates's friend who worked for National Installation Services, which at the time, had contracts to install locks at Red Roof Inns and Motel 6 lodging. He told Ken that if he went through their training and started his own business, they would be able to supply them with plenty of work. The rest, as they say, is history.
The majority of WCI’s work has been on the commercial side, In fact, when Onity, a manufacturer of access control products such as remote readers, electric strikes, front desk writers/reader modules, programmers and locksets, had acquired a contract to work on the bachelor quarters at navy bases in Okinawa, Japan and Mayport, FL., they subcontracted WCI to install the locks. “We are just putting our toe in the residential market,” says Croston. “We have been in a branding mode over the last year or so,” he stated. This is one of the reasons they opened up a new showroom a couple months ago for the public. It is located in a small industrial park off Rock Springs Rd, a half-mile south of Welch Rd. “Here people can actually touch and feel the product so they can make a decision between low-end electronic locks or high-end.” Indeed, they are stocked with a wide array of locksets, keypads, electronic stikes and touchtone digital locks, as well as closed circuit t.v’s and accompanying dvr’s. In addition to their showroom, they have an extensive online store at www.electroniclocksmith.com.
Ken feels that smarthomes are a thing of the future, complete with web interfaces to smartphones and other communication devices.
