Brooklyn, NY, June 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Max P. Productions children’s book author, Nicole Rivera, will be holding free author readings in Central Park in NYC every Wednesday from 10am - 11am starting July 11 – August 22nd. Readings will consist of books from the Max the Shelter Dog and Max P. Productions series of books and include the popular title Max the Shelter Dog and Billy’s Journey to the Sky.

Nicole Rivera, author of the Max series and founder of Max P. Productions, has been inspired by a real life shelter dog that she cared for when volunteering at an animal shelter. Her compassion shines through in her books that she has read to hundreds of school children. Their reaction to Max has been overwhelming. They laugh, enjoy his antics, are sad at times, but most of all they feel empowered that they can make a difference in an animal’s life.

The Summer Author Readings will not only include the Max the Shelter Dog series but also books in the Max P. Productions series which include such titles as Herbie Greenthumb and Baboo the Elephant.

Nicole has read her books to NYC school children throughout the 2012 school year and is thrilled to continue her readings during the summer months. “The best thing about reading to children is their enthusiasm and inquisitiveness. I would miss that if I didn’t continue through the summer.”

After the reading, each child will receive an activity sheet that has coloring and a puzzle, so bring a blanket, some crayons, relax and listen to a short story. Free for all. Ages 4-7.

Enter at the SW corner of 5th Avenue and E 79th Street, atop Cedar Hill near the bench.
