Babbel.com Publishes Its First iBook

Interactive textbook for Apple’s iPad now offers beginner’s courses with animated dialogues, vocabulary cards, study guides and personal notepad.

Atlanta, GA, June 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Babbel.com, the online language learning portal, today launched its first interactive iBook for English speakers looking to learn German vocabulary, grammar and key phrases.

The iBook offers flexible learning with a twist. Packed into five chapters, the book provides key German words and phrases for mastering the basics of the language. Example phrases include: How do I introduce myself? How do I order a drink? How much does a hotel room cost?

From now on, the iBook is available for download on the iPad. Users can easily scroll through the iBook's seventy pages and learn basic grammar and vocabulary step-by-step. Useful dialogues give pronunciation examples and show how to put phrases into practice while the interactive study cards help users consistently review progress. Multiple choice quizzes with sample images encourage learners to train their vocabulary and grammar, while the personal notepad offers room for notes and reminders. Towards the end of the book, a glossary offers a full overview of all the words used throughout the chapters.

“With this release we are showing that Babbel has become a professional publisher,” says Markus Witte, CEO of Babbel. “It proves that we are one of the most innovative language learning companies currently in the market because we offer learners high quality content and fun tools to learn with: from learning via interactive website lessons and mobile apps to new platforms like the iBook,” he adds.

The iBook "Learn German: Beginner’s Course 1"* is available for $ 8.99 (introductory offer) here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/book/id520118649?mt=13

Users need to install the Apple application "iBooks" on their iPad first (available in the App Store) to access the course.
