Memphis, TN, July 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- When you work hard on your craft, it can take you to far away places, literally. Eight lucky, yet very deserving DanzHouse students found that out this week, when they were selected to attend Dance Theatre of Harlem's Summer Intensives in New York and Detroit. The news comes on the heels of prestigious wins for the dance studio, as they've racked up a number of awards from Showstopper and NexStar dance competitions this year. And it's a testament to the intense training and preparation the young ladies have gone through to earn a spot in the coveted program.

Teen dancers, Rebekah, Kamryn, Jayla, Gabrielle, Codi and Lauren will be leaving on Sunday for their three week intensive in Detroit. While Junior dancers Araya and Kyla will begin their three-week intensive in New York this Monday. All the dancers will be taking classes in Ballet, Pointe, African, Modern, Contemporary and Character. And the studio's co-owners couldn't be more proud.

"We're extremely proud of these young dancers," say Co-Owners, Kathalene and Vera. "They've been a part of DanzHouse since we started. And we've seen tremendous growth in their dancing ability over the years. We know they will be exhausted, but we look forward to them coming back totally inspired—with a renewed drive and outlook on dance and its place in their lives. "We're also very thankful for their parents," adds Vera. "Their sacrifice has made all of this possible. What a great opportunity for their girls! We can't wait for them to get back, so we can hear all about the great experiences."

DanzHouse, established in 2008 by co-owners Vera Dantzler and Kathalene Taylor-White, has fast become one of Memphis’ premiere dance studios.
