CSU VP of Technical Operations Attends Red Hat Summit in Boston, MA

Cedarhurst, NY, July 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- This past week Red Hat hosted its annual JBoss World and Red Hat Summit in Boston, MA. Over 3300 people were in attendance, including Andrew Gladstone, CSU VP of Technical Operations. Red Hat is the leading force in the Open Source community, a trailblazer in the industry push to cloud computing. The annual conference highlights Red Hat's products and solutions and provides an opportunity for the members of the Open Source community and ecosystem to get together and exchange ideas, successes and advice with one another.

"The Open Source community is an amazing collection of vibrant, bright, motivated people. It was infectious to witness how driven and focused a community of consumers and partners can be, and the outcomes that can be produced as a result," Gladstone stated. He quipped, "if we could bottle this enthusiasm for a purpose and a cause, the economies of scale would tip completely for the industry, and for CSU as an entity. I hope to be able to infuse our people with the excitement that I felt being part of this unbelievable event."

Gladstone was not there solely to experience the culture of the community. CSU's presence at the Red Hat summit demonstrates its commitment to providing the best solutions to CSU's customers. "We have a large customer install base still running their databases and applications in HP-UX environments based on PA-RISC and Intel Itanium architectures. It would be imprudent for CSU, as our customer's trusted advisor in all things IT, not to have a plan and proposal in place to move and migrate them from HP-UX on PA-RISC or Itanium to the Linux based OS of the future. Red Hat has proven products and has continued to innovate and create a broad portfolio of solutions that directly address our client's needs."

With the recent addition of CSU's robust portfolio of professional services offerings, the addition of HP-UX to RHEL migrations will further bolster CSU's value add to our client base. "We are now at the end of the 'discovery' phase on this project. In the coming weeks and months we will be testing these processes in our lab, creating documentation and templates for successful migrations and finally marketing and performing these services for our customers."
