48 Hour Film Competition Comes to Mississippi!

The 48 Hour Film Project comes to Jackson on the weekend of August 17 - 19, 2012. Filmmakers from all over Mississippi will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world.

Jackson, MS, July 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The CEO of Editing Creations was chosen by the 48 Hour Film Project to expand the competition to the state of Mississippi. Editing Creations entered the competition twice in TX and CEO Shari Goins is excited to be responsible for improving the film scene in Mississippi. While this international competition is entering its twelfth year, this is the first time it will be available to filmmakers in Mississippi. CEO Shari Goins assures that making the competition successful will not interfere with the daily operations of Editing Creations or compromise the quality of the productions produced. The competition will take place over the weekend of August 17 and all films submitted will be screened August 25th at Millsaps College in Jackson.

The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours. On Friday night, teams are given a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in their movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete.

Dates for the award ceremony and "Best Of" screening is TBD. The competition is open to all ages from the state of MS. Sponsors, donors, and media opportunities sought. Registration and more information is available at http://www.48hourfilm.com/en/jackson/
