Boating Industry Expands Its Team

New Editor-In-Chief, Returning Group Publisher Increases Commitment to Recreational Marine Market

Minneapolis, MN, July 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Boating Industry has expanded the team behind its magazine, websites, media and events, adding a veteran editorial voice, welcoming back a longtime partner and adapting the role of its former editor.

Hired as the new Editor-In-Chief of Boating Industry is Jonathan “Jay” Sweet. Sweet brings the team 14 years of journalism experience, including 11 years with trade magazines and events, most in the construction industry. He’ll join a respected editorial team at the Minneapolis-area Boating Industry offices that includes Senior Editor Mike Davin, Associate Editor Brent Renneke and Associate Digital Editor Chris Gerber in the publishing of Boating Industry magazine as well as news, stories and information on BoatingIndustry.com and its related e-news plus leadership in the Top 100 dealer program, Marine Dealer Conference & Expo and custom media.

“I’m thrilled to be joining a great team at Boating Industry and to be part of such an exciting industry,” Sweet said.

Sweet replaces Liz Walz in title, but Walz remains a part of the Boating Industry extended family. She’ll continue as a columnist and contributor, sharing the knowledge she has gained after more than a decade with the magazine.

Returning to Boating Industry after a brief hiatus is Amy Collins. Formerly the Associate Publisher and Director Of Sales, Collins now takes the lead as the Trade Group Publisher, overseeing sales and promotion as well as events and brand building efforts. Collins has 19 years in marketing and media experience, including six years experience with Boating Industry and related marine titles for GS Media & Events (formerly known as Affinity Media).

“With our expanding team, we’re more dedicated than ever to the recreational boating market,” Collins said. “From our own media products to our Top 100 program to our partnership with the MRAA in the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo, we’re committed to fostering excellence in the marine market.”
