)-- Vitex LLC, a leading supplier of fiber optic signal extenders today announced that it has started shipping detachable dual link DVI extenders from its partner, Opticis. Opticis, based in South Korea designs and manufactures high quality fiber optic digital links for medical imaging, digital signage, education/government and broadcast applications.
The Dual Link DVI fiber optic module extender, DDFX-100 extends dual-link DVI up to 500m to a display supporting resolutions up to 3840 x 2400 (WQXGA) over a two-strand LC multi-mode fiber. The Self-EDID programming feature makes installation easy and convenient. The EDID in the display can be read by plugging the transmitter once to the display.
The transmitter is powered either through the DVI pin from the PC or by a +5V power adaptor with an auto-power switching circuit.
· Extends all VESA resolution up to WQXGA (2560x1600) at 60Hz or WQUXGA (3840x2400) at 33Hz DVI data up to 500 meters (1640ft) over two (2) multi-mode fibers
· Detachable feature with a duplex LC connector for each module
· Offers Self-EDID programming feature, detecting from a display and restoring to an EEPROM in the transmitter just by plugging to the display without any physical DDC connection
· The modules are compact enough to directly plug to graphic sources and displays
