Fortitech South America Toasts to Wellness at FISA 2007 in Sao Paulo

This year during Food Ingredients South America (FISA), Fortitech South America will have three distinct fortified beverages each possessing its own distinct nutritional profile.

Schenectady, NY, June 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- With increasing health awareness among Brazilian consumers and willingness to pay more for healthy products, this trend of new, innovative and personalized functional beverages should continue to fuel solid value growth in the market. According to Euromonitor International, the functional/fortified beverage market in Brazil is worth more than R$2.6 billion ($1.2 billion; €979 million) and has grown more than 70% in the past 5 years.

To help demonstrate the versatility of their custom premixes, Fortitech South America is offering four functional beverage samples to FISA visitors. The first beverage is a fortified black tea intended for women. Complete with vitamin D3, B6, folic acid, calcium, boron and magnesium – this beverage is ideal for maintaining good bone health. The second beverage will focus on increased energy and endurance. Sure to get anyone through a long day, Fortitech South America’s energy beverage premix contains a potent blend of vitamin B12, B6, panthothenic acid, niacin, D-glucoronolactone, taurine and meso-inositol. The third beverage sample at FISA will be soy-based drink containing Vitamins A, C and Iron. This healthy concept is a low-calorie drink with eye, bone and immune health benefits from the added vitamin A; antioxidant benefits from vitamin C and an energy boost from the added iron. The final sample is a naturally flavored hangover remedy. This carbohydrate electrolyte drink mix is fortified with a custom blend of vitamins, minerals, phospholipids, amino acids and sweeteners to help take away that “morning after” fuzziness and to increase overall awareness.

Held annually in São Paulo, Brazil, FISA is one of the leading trade shows for new trends, solutions and technology for the food industry. With Brazil’s population around 190 million and growing, the important event is the world’s fourth largest food ingredients show and this year, FISA is expected to bring in over 14,000 visitors from all over the world. The show is also expected to attract upwards of 500 exhibitors in 2007.
