William Peace University Names Frank P. Rizzo Vice President for Student Services

Four-Year Baccalaureate University Adds Experienced University Administrator Effective July 2012 to Lead Student Services

Raleigh, NC, July 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Frank P. Rizzo has been named its new vice president of student services. In this position, which will be effective July 2012, Rizzo will assist in transitioning the campus facilities to accommodate a coeducational student body for the fall 2012 semester and oversee staff appointments and evaluations needed as part of this transition. Rizzo will supervise six staff members directly as well as lead in the supervision of residence life, student activities, leadership development, the Summer Pacer Camp, fall orientation, student government, judicial affairs, student health and counseling, community involvement, spiritual life and university athletics. Rizzo will report directly to the university president and serve on the President’s Council as well as serve as the staff appointment to the Trustee Committee on Living and Learning.

With more than 12 years of professional experience, Rizzo most recently served as the associate vice president and dean for student development at Marymount University in Arlington, Va. In this role, Rizzo counseled and trained student development units and implemented innovative and cost effective policies and programs to recruit and retain high performing employees. Serving as the senior officer of a department of 56 professional staff members, Rizzo managed a $3.8 million budget for the university. His work and service at Marymount span numerous areas, from administration in the Office of the President to Residential Life and Housing to Athletics to Student Government. Rizzo’s previous positions include serving as the director of campus activities and judicial affairs at St. Thomas University in Miami and as the assistant director/coordinator of Global Outreach, Faculty in Residence and University 101 Instructor at Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y. Rizzo earned his Bachelor of Science in finance and his Master of Science in education, counseling and personnel services from Fordham University.
