Delaware Poker Championship II Trophy Towers at 36 Inches in Crown Royal Poker Room at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino

Dover, DE, July 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The winner of the Sept. 8 Delaware Poker Championship® II at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will receive the spoils of victory with not only a guaranteed $50,000 prize pool and bracelet, but also a mammoth trophy. The trophy, a 30” tall replica of the State of Delaware with a poker chip affixed in the side, declares the winner of the 2012 Delaware Poker Championship II. It sets on a 6” base, bringing the total height of the trophy to three feet.

“We felt that while poker players play for the coveted 'bracelet' the way professional football players play for “the ring” as a symbol of a championship, we wanted to commemorate the event with more flare. So we decided to compliment it with a significant trophy to proudly be displayed,” said Robert Westerfield, director of table games for Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The trophy and Championship bracelet will be kept on display in the Crown Royal Poker Room®.

Four seats to the Delaware Poker Championship II main event on Sept. 8 will be given away on the first Sunday of Aug. and Sept., with drawings held at 1, 4, 7 and 10 p.m. Entries for seat drawings are earned for every three-hour session completed in the preceding month.

On Friday, Aug. 31, a $10,000 guarantee tournament will be held with the winner receiving a seat to the Championship in addition to the night’s prize pool. Single table satellites will be available from 9 a.m. until midnight on the day before the main event. The entry fee for a single table satellite is $60.

The Delaware Poker Championship II main event will take place at noon on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. The buy in is $450 for 20,000 in chips. Games are at 30-minutes levels; no add-ons or rebuys. Players who won a seat via single table satellites beginning Aug. 26 and from the seat giveaways, or who have bought in may participate in the Championship. The Delaware Poker Championship II has a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000 cash. Early registration for the Championship tournament is now being held in the Crown Royal Poker Room.

Last year’s inaugural Delaware Poker Championship prize lot included a Championship bracelet won by John Vaccariello II of Newport News, Va., along with a sizeable, three-way chop pot shared by Vaccariello, Jeff Lord of Denton, Md., and Mike Zhang of Chesapeake, Va.
