Vine Allows Businesses of Any Size to Have Their Own App

Austin-Based Firm Launches New Custom App Product

Austin, TX, July 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Today marks the official launch of the VineTM mobile application product for small businesses. VineTM is a revolutionary concept in smartphone/tablet applications – it allows small businesses to have a customized mobile application, but it costs a fraction of what a full-scale mobile application normally does. What VineTM offers is an affordable way for small businesses to get an app in the Apple iTunes Store or Google Play, without having to resort to “app mills” or apps that are built from templates and require the customer to generate the bulk of the content.

Vine’s creators, Austin-based Techarati, Inc., build mobile apps for business. Their sales force identified several common hurdles for small businesses in terms of developing their own app. “The average cost of developing an iPhone, iPad or Android mobile application for businesses in the U.S. is between twenty and thirty thousand dollars. Often, that is simply out of reach for small, locally-owned businesses,” says Techarati founder and CEO, Drew Moynihan.

In response, Techarati began developing VineTM with small business in mind. Techarati’s sales team realized that small businesses of all types have many of the same desired features when discussing mobile app development. Specifically – location-based information, announcing specials and events, and putting their products and services on display. At the same time, there is a serious backlash against so-called "cookie-cutter apps."

“These businesses have unique personalities, and we don’t want that to get lost,” remarked Moynihan.

Vine is being offered as a subscription model. This offers two major advantages to the small business owner: One, the cost to set-up and launch the app is reduced dramatically. Two, they can continually update the app using a web service that Techarati builds and maintains.

“We wanted to create a product that could be updated when the client needs it; we didn’t want them to be totally dependent on us to communicate with their customers,” says Moynihan. “Vine is about giving every business access to the fastest-growing digital format, and enhancing their ability to reach and market to their customers.”

Established in 2008, with headquarters in Austin, Texas, Techarati is an independent app studio helping businesses navigate the new and emerging smartphone and tablet landscape. Their services include mobile application development, database management, content creation, content management, and marketplace distribution.
