)-- Marie Buckner, flutist with Marie's Flute, is pleased to announce the release of her new recording titled “Loving Those Old-Fashioned Sing-A-Longs.”
After entertaining for more than 40 years, Marie noticed that sing-a-longs were all-time favorites for bringing back reminders of a simpler time in life. “I loved hearing stories about where audience members were when they first enjoyed a song I had just played,” she mentioned in a recent interview. “After receiving such positive feedback, I decided to record the songs so others could enjoy at will,” Marie mentioned.
“Loving Those Old-Fashioned Sing-A-Longs” contains 17 tunes dating from the late 1800's to 1920's including favorites such as “Alouette,” “Red River Valley,” “Bill Bailey” and “Give My Regards To Broadway.” Songs are sometimes known as campfire songs, campfire tunes and/or fireside tunes.
During performances, Marie shares with her audience, "These songs remind me of sitting around a campfire while in Girl Scouts. And, my mom, grandma and great grandma all did the same thing. They told me that when I first started playing my flute as a kid. How much fun is that? Even as an adult, these songs usually come up when enjoying an evening of sitting around a campfire with family and friends."
Tracks offer a variety of entertainment including introductions, some history, lyrics and insight into the intricacies of playing the flute. Intricacies include how air stream affects pitch and how a flutist's embouchure determines air direction.
Recording is available in digital and CD format. Digital format allows for immediate enjoyment and easy downloads. CD comes complete with standard jewel case, full-color CD, 4-panel insert and a 2-sided tray card. Recording can be purchased through her Reverbnation store and from her website known as Marie's Flute. Tracks can also be purchased individually and as ringtones.
