Alt-N Technologies Releases Its Most Powerful MDaemon® Email Server

Windows-based Email Includes Message Certification and Backscatter Protection to Over 60 New Features

Manchester, United Kingdom, June 23, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Alt-N Technologies, a global provider of messaging, security, and collaboration solutions targeted to the needs of small-to-medium businesses (SMB), is pleased to announce the latest release of its Windows-based email server, MDaemon 9.6. The latest version of the award-winning email platform is the result of 8 months of end user feedback and the incorporation of the latest email security and performance technologies available. Included in this release are default configurations for the recent Internet Engineering Task Force’s (IETF) standard DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) (RFC 4871) email authentication method, the first commercial implementation of Vouch By Reference (VBR) for a free message certification service to MDaemon users, and implementation of Backscatter Protection (BATV protocol) to minimize the annoyance of receiving non-delivery replies to messages that were never sent by a user.

“For over 10 years we have worked closely with our customers and channel partners, constantly enhancing the product based upon how they use it, and incorporating the latest security and technology features available,” said Arvel Hathcock, CEO of Alt-N Technologies. “MDaemon 9.6 is a result of that ongoing dialog with users who need flexibility and security in an email platform without compromising MDaemon’s traditional ease of administration capabilities. It is why we are proud to call this our most powerful version ever.”

“The MDaemon email server has strong performance and security, easy administration, and low total cost of ownership,” said David Ferris, principal analyst with Ferris Research. “With the addition of backscatter protection and message certification, Alt-N once again illustrates its ability to innovate and deliver an attractive solution for small-to-medium organizations around the world.”

Customers who use MDaemon 9.6 will also be able to take advantage of the enhanced security layers for email threat protection found in SecurityPlus for MDaemon. Version 3.0.5, scheduled for release later this month, will offer the latest image-based spam fighting technologies, the real-time antivirus features of Outbreak Protection, and support for the Internet Watch Foundation’s efforts to expose and classify child pornography and other sites promoting or involved in illegal activities.
