Peekaboo Magazine, Australia's Leading Boutique Family Lifestyle Publication, Finds a New Home

Peekaboo Magazine, Australia's leading boutique family lifestyle publication, finds a new home.

Melbourne, Australia, July 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Peekaboo magazine director/founder Bianca Shugg is pleased to announce Sally Belinda Broad, of independent publisher Minimedia, as the new owner of the popular boutique family lifestyle publication.

A mother of two, Bianca has always referred to Peekaboo as her "third baby" so it was with a heavy heart that she put the magazine up for "adoption" earlier this year. Bianca admits that while the sale has been a bittersweet pill to swallow, she is very excited for where Peekaboo’s new ‘mum’ will be able to take the magazine in the next chapter of its life.

“It has been an incredible journey and one that I would not change for anything,” Bianca said. “I will especially miss designing the content of the magazine each quarter and then the rush of deadline. I know Sally will bring new energy to the business and I’m grateful to have found a committed and eager new owner.”

Sally admits she jumped at the chance of adopting Peekaboo magazine.

“To me, Peekaboo is one of those beautifully styled magazines that you want to read over and over again,” she said.

“With the current downward trend in circulation being experienced by many print magazines, I really believe that Peekaboo offers advertisers a unique proposition because of its niche boutique positioning, its highly engaged readership and the fact that it's free."

“I'm excited about the opportunity to work with the Peekaboo team who make the magazine what it is and am looking forward to shaping its development and maintaining its position as Australia's leading complimentary family lifestyle magazine.”

Bianca launched Peekaboo in Brisbane in November, 2009. Since that time it has undergone several facelifts, grown in size, and nowadays also offers localised quarterly editions in Sydney and Melbourne as well as strong online and social media followings.

While she is saddened to see her magazine baby go, Bianca is also excited about the future of her new business – a mumpreneur business mentoring venture called Green Bananas.

“I extend the very best wishes to Sally and the Peekaboo team and will enjoy reading every new edition with the rest of you!” Bianca said.

The upcoming edition, Sally’s first in the driver’s seat, is due for publication in September and will feature the ever-popular "Bump" theme for all things pregnancy and maternity. For advertising enquiries, please contact sally@peekaboomagazine.com.au.
