How Do You "Respond to Sound II"?

Respond to Sound II is an Avant-garde hip hop documentary that depicts the evolution of Black American street dance and its influence of those dancers on American culture. It details two centuries of Black Street Dancers and performers from 1760 to 1960.

Hollywood, CA, June 23, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The documentary features commentary from various voices in the Hip Hop community such as the legendary KRS-ONE, The Black Eyed Peas, The Pharcyde and many others. Audiences will have the chance view rarely seen footage from dance legends such as Sammy Davis Jr., The Nicholas Brothers, Sandman Sims and James Brown.

The film makers want audiences to know that the history of Hip Hop could not be told without street dance. The documentary explores the struggles that early Black American street dancers had to also endure in times of racial strife and social injustice.

Respond to Sound II has been selected to be showcased by the Vibe Urbanworld Film Festival and will screen in New York on Friday June 22nd and Saturday June 23rd.
