William Peace University Names Korrel Kanoy, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus

Four-Year Baccalaureate University Names Director Of Institutional Research as Professor Emeritus After More Than 30 Years of Higher Education Experience.

Raleigh, NC, July 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Korrel Kanoy, Ph.D., director of institutional research and professor of psychology, has been named professor emeritus, following the unanimous approval of the university’s board of trustees. With more than 30 years of higher education experience, Kanoy has previously served as faculty member, associate dean of academic affairs, dean of academic affairs and chairperson of numerous campus and educational committees. As director of institutional research and professor of psychology, she administers student assessments and evaluates campus data to ensure that William Peace University meets its strategic and educational goals. Kanoy has received numerous university award recognitions, including the Alumnae Distinguished Professor Award, Excellence in Campus Leadership and the McCormick Distinguished Teaching Award.

One of the highest honors among higher education institutions, the title of professor emeritus is bestowed upon faculty members who have completed a minimum of 15 years of university service and are in service to the university at the time of retirement. Eligible candidates must have an excellent record of teaching, received the ranking of professor and be nominated by the appropriate division chair, in consultation with the vice president for academic affairs as well as the president of the university.
