RAD ETX-5300A Shortlisted for Best Carrier Ethernet Aggregation Product Award

RAD's ETX-5300A Ethernet service aggregation platform, a cost-saving convergence solution, is a finalist for the 2012 Carrier Ethernet award. The winner will be announced at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in September.

Mahwah, NJ, July 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The newly released ETX-5300A Ethernet service aggregation platform has been named a finalist for a 2012 Carrier Ethernet Award by a prestigious panel of industry judges at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress.

The ETX-5300A grooms Ethernet and TDM traffic from the access network to the provider’s edge, enabling operators to optimize converged business, wholesale and mobile backhaul services using a single device while substantially reducing operational costs per Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) link. It was shortlisted in the Best Carrier Ethernet Aggregation Product category for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market.

The award winners will be selected by a panel of judges from leading industry analyst firms, including Ovum and Infonetics, as well as telecom operators such as Telus, Colt, Oi Brasil, and NTT Japan. The awards are presented under the auspices of IIR Telecoms & Technology, organizer of the events, and in the presence of the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF).

This year’s Carrier Ethernet Awards ceremony will be held on September 18 at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Barcelona. Last year, RAD was the only vendor to have won two Carrier Ethernet Awards. The company’s ETX-203A was recognized as best Carrier Ethernet demarcation product in Asia-Pacific at Carrier Ethernet APAC 2011 in Singapore. At Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2011, held in Amsterdam that year, RAD’s ETX-205A won the award for Best Carrier Ethernet mobile backhaul product in EMEA.
