Samuel Tilden’s History Would Renew the Reform Message for 2008 Presidential Candidates

Washington, DC, June 25, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Tilden was the master of Political Reform in the 19th Century and the 2008 Presidential candidates as well as others running for political office would benefit greatly from Tilden’s experiences with party politics. Nationwide the public adored him and they remained loyal even after he lost his Presidency by just one disputed Electoral College vote. “Samuel Tilden the Real 19th President” includes the historical writings of John Bigelow who penned Tilden’s biography and he states clearly the corruption and the conspirators involved that stole Tilden’s Presidency. The corruption that occurred during the1876 election recounts in Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Oregon were far worse than Gore/Bush in 2000 and it’s all explained in Oldaker’s new book. Elected by the Peoples’ vote candidate Tilden never conceded his Presidency Tilden supporters marched in the streets shouting, “Tilden or Blood” even after Hayes who was nicknamed by them “Your Fraudulency” was sworn into office as the 19th President.

Presidential disinformation corruption was born in 1876 and as the saying goes, history does repeat itself. Author Nikki Oldaker, in her new book "Samuel J. Tilden – The Real 19th President," takes us back in time behind the scenes of the 1876 Tilden/Hayes election, which was referenced with Gore/Bush 2000 election dispute and then again with Kerry/Bush in 2004. Oldaker stated, “My goal is to see this book in every library and to have Tilden’s election story produced as a film. Other famed writers have written about the 1876 election fiasco, but none ever grasped the story as it happened those five months from November 7, 1876 through March 1877. Her book tells the story and entices the reader to turn the pages to find out what happened during the five months of legal confusion Congress faced while trying to decipher Constitutional law to choose the President.

Unlike Al Gore and John Kerry, Tilden never conceded his Presidency. Rutherford B. Hayes wrote in his diary election night that he was conceding because he believed Tilden beat him with the popular vote. This fact has been hidden in our history and voters as well as historians will now know how this election factually played out. I got the facts from the horses’ mouth and it is why I included John Bigelow’s writings in my book. Bigelow was one of Tilden’s Campaign managers and penned Tilden’s biography.” NY Governor Tilden, AKA, the “Great Reformer” busted the infamous Tweed and Canal Rings. Nikki was in awe of Tilden's political integrity and in 1997, she wrote a movie script about his conflict with Rutherford B. Hayes, titled, "Tilden." She researched numerous books and historical documents as well as newspaper accounts to write a compelling screenplay. The four months of conflict and voters protests during the 1876/1877 demonstrations uncannily looks similar to the last two Presidential elections between Gore/Bush and Bush/Kerry.

Nikki Oldaker is “a natural” who excels at whatever she undertakes. She plunged into her political breech in the 1992 Democratic Political Convention and two more successive ones managing “The VIP Backstage Room” for candidates and speakers who went before the TV cameras. This curiosity led her to Tilden and his presidency that was stolen by just one Electoral College vote.
