EE Times-China Launches Specialized Electronics Websites for China Designers

Aberdeen, Hong Kong S.A.R., November 24, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Global Sources Ltd. (NASDAQ: GSOL) publication Electronic Engineering Times-China (EE Times-China) launched three specialized electronics websites for China-based designers of cell phones, media players and automotive electronics at http://cellphone.eetchina.com, http://mediaplayer.eetchina.com and http://autoelectronics.eetchina.com, respectively.

The sites provide daily breaking news, new product reports and technical features in simplified Chinese. They also host online forums for China-based engineers to discuss design issues in these high-growth sectors.

China produces more than 45 percent of the world’s cell phones and 90 percent of its DVD players. China’s production of in-car electronics is growing by about 28 percent annually.

EE Times-China publisher Mark Saunderson said: “China-based engineers face growing pressure from manufacturers to develop innovative, cost-effective designs and reduce time to market. The new sites are a comprehensive online source of the methodologies and technology that designers need to succeed.”
30,000 engineers pre-registered for cell phone, media player and automotive electronics design websites
Saunderson said: “These are the first design sites in China to focus on these applications. More than 30,000 engineers have pre-registered for site access since September.

“The sites also enable technology companies to reach specific design communities in China, and the influencers in those communities.”
