)-- Best-selling novelist Christopher Priest is best known for writing The Prestige, which was adapted and directed by Christopher Nolan for the 2006 Academy award-winning movie of the same name. Lesser known is the short film he wrote called The Stooge, currently in pre-production in Los Angeles, California.
The Stooge, produced by Gabriel Gonzalez, Tom Joyner (Jaws) and Jason Fenton, will be directed by Uruguayan director Rogelio Fojo (also producer/editor of the short film) and shot by world-renowned cinematographer Nancy Schreiber.
After a nationwide search by casting director Anissa Williams, The Stooge welcomed Actress Rheannon Slover to the cast this week to play the leading female role of Angela.
Rheannon Slover began her career at the age of 7 in commercials and as a professional dancer with Marguerite Derricks’ dance company. At the age of 13 she landed the lead role of Molly in the internationally syndicated television series Masked Rider for 5 seasons. At 14 she began modeling with Elite Models and in her late teens she took a hiatus from the entertainment industry to study and teach kundalini yoga.
After living in a Sikh ashram she made the move to Amritsar, India to study classical Indian Music with her Ustaad (Music Master). Finishing her B.A. program in Raag at Khalsa College she made her way back to the states to continue her acting career. She hopes to someday work on a project with her mentor and teacher, Richard Dreyfuss.
