A written statement from the company reads:
“Inkspill Publishing House is in the business of inspiring and cultivating children through literature. We want our readers to dream big, have healthy relationships and to live the best lives possible, but how can we do that when catastrophic amounts of children within our own city are dying senseless deaths due to avoidable, unresolved conflicts? We felt a pressing responsibility to shift our publishing focus towards children and young adult stories that feature characters and scenarios that promote healthy social behavior, peaceful conflict resolution, self-esteem building and community responsibility. As a children’s literature company, we are committed to the development of young people through literacy, and we are currently developing outreach programs that partner with schools, youth based non-profit organizations, childcare centers and children friendly business to provide engaging, entertaining and educating events all over Chicago with free admission.”
