It Girl Public Relations Signs on Leading Actress, Singer, and Dancer, Nikki Blonsky


Los Angeles, CA, August 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- It Girl Public Relations, one of Los Angeles’ leading boutique public relations firms, is excited to announce signing Hairspray star, Nikki Blonsky.

Blonsky captured the hearts of audiences around the world in the hit movie musical Hairspray as Tracy Turnblad, alongside Zac Efron, Queen Latifah and John Travolta. Her professional debut not only earned her a Critic’s Choice Award and a Golden Globe Nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical, but has launched her entertainment career in television and film.

In addition to her Hairspray success, this triple threat was also the leading actress in Queen Sized, had a starring guest role on ABC’s Huge and played “Dolores” in the film Waiting For Forever.

Blonsky has several ventures on the horizon but is currently enthralled with her most recent film projects, The English Teacher, releasing in the later quarter of 2012 and Geography Club, due to release in 2013.

About Nikki Blonsky

Blonsky was born and raised in Great Neck, Long Island, New York and graduated from the Great Neck Village School, a five-time Grammy Foundation Signature School where she was trained in music and theater. Blonsky's performing credits include ‘Teri O Shaughnessy’ in Ugly Betty, ‘Rhonda Baxter’ in Harold, 'Madame Tanardeau' in Les Miserables, 'Mrs. Lovett' in Sweeney Todd, 'Kate' in Kiss Me, Kate, 'Rebecca Hillicker' in The Laramie Project and the title role in Bizet's Carmen. In addition to being an actress, singer and dancer, she is an advocate for the LGBT community as well as the anti-bullying movement. Blonsky, who has fallen victim to bullying throughout her life, recently traveled to Washington DC, with Children Uniting Nations to speak to congress about children’s rights issues, specifically bullying and keeping physical education in schools.
