Dynamix Improves BIM Workflow with Advanced Solutions’ Revit Health Check

Recommends Check for Any Firm Just Starting Out with Autodesk Revit Software

Columbus, OH, August 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dynamix Engineering, a full-service mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology engineering firm, used Advanced Solutions’ Revit Health Check to uncover and correct costly building information modeling (BIM) workflow inefficiencies.

Advanced Solutions’ Health Check is performed on Autodesk Revit software or other Autodesk software workflows after implementation. The check up serves to ensure software is implemented in a way that results in long term success and improved productivity for the client. For the Dynamix Health Check, Advanced Solutions used a completed project, the Ohio School for the Deaf and the Blind, to evaluate how Dynamix utilized Autodesk Revit MEP software, identify problematic workflows and provide recommendations for improvement.

Over the course of one month, Advanced Solutions interviewed Dynamix team members, reviewed and analyzed the Autodesk Revit models and identified key areas of workflow inefficiencies. The Autodesk Revit Health Check enabled Dynamix to align the practices of all disciplines within the company.

“For us, the Revit Health Check was a discovery tool. We learned to recognize the intricacies of Autodesk Revit MEP models. It equipped our company’s Autodesk Revit users with the ability to click on a piece of equipment and know exactly how to locate what makes up the item’s families,” said Matthew Stuver, BIM manager at Dynamix Engineering.

Since having the Revit Health Check performed on an early Autodesk Revit MEP project and applying the results recommended by Advanced Solutions, Dynamix Engineering has efficiently designed 4.6 million square feet in more than 40 projects using Autodesk Revit MEP.

“I would recommend the Revit Health Check to any firm just starting out with Autodesk Revit. We ultimately envision creating models used for everything from estimating to building management, and we are confident in Advanced Solutions’ ability to help us achieve our BIM goals,” said Garry Montgomery, vice president, Dynamix Engineering.

Dynamix is moving toward designing all projects in Revit, with a goal of 100 percent usage by 2013.
