Planning Design Research Expands Workplace in Two Houston Center

Houston, TX, August 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Planning Design Research (PDR) has expanded its Houston office to the 40th floor in Two Houston Center, 909 Fannin, where the workplace architecture firm occupies the building’s entire 39th floor.

PDR plans to use the expanded 4,000 square feet of space for additional workplace specialists to serve the firm’s growing portfolio of workplace design projects. Its recent growth is largely attributed to the dynamic changes companies are experiencing in their work, workforces and workplaces, according to PDR Principal Lauri Goodman Lampson.

In the past year, the firm has been named workplace architect for several prominent Houston projects including ExxonMobil’s new north Houston campus, ConocoPhillips, Invesco, Avanade, Murphy E&P, EIG and Oxy.

PDR’s major U.S. workplace consulting projects include Eaton’s new global headquarters in suburban Cleveland and Accenture offices in Washington D.C., Chicago and Charlotte. The firm also is involved in several major international projects in Canada, Argentina and Brazil.

Its workplace consulting business currently provides strategic planning, change leadership and move migration for a global workforce of over 20,000 people.

PDR moved to Two Houston Center in February 2011. A year later, its workplace became the first in Houston to earn the prestigious LEED CI (Commercial Interior Design and Construction) Platinum certification, the U.S. Green Building Council program’s highest classification.

The 40-story Two Houston Center also is certified LEED EBOM (Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance) Gold.

Founded in 1977, PDR focuses on corporate architecture, working with Fortune 100 companies around the globe to create high-performance work environments for organizations which recognize the workplace as a key, strategic asset in promoting the effective integration of talent, process and technology.
