SteadyRain Launches Web Development Improvements with Student Resource Services

SteadyRain announces web application development and design launch for Student Resource Services.

Saint Louis, MO, August 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- SteadyRain, St. Louis based Internet strategy, development, and online marketing agency, announces web application development and design launch for Student Resource Services, an organization that works hand-in-hand with career schools and colleges, providing multiple levels of ongoing support for students. Solutions included the web development and design of two (2) websites as well as the implementation of two (2) website applications, which included school registration and Help Desk management.

Student Resource Services provides students with 24/7, immediate telephone access to master’s –level counselors, assistance with daily living needs, including coordination of local resources and financial/legal consultation, fact-to-face counseling and internet-based self-help tools, articles and information.

The goals for the web development and design include providing effective online tools and information that allow students to feel comfortable when registering on the site and accessing resources geared toward their specific needs.

Student Resource Services requested an updated web design as well as the integration of a content management system (CMS) to the existing corporate site, www.studentresourceservices.com, and the school administration, faculty and student-facing site, www.studentlifetools.com. As the two sites were not in an existing content management system, SteadyRain suggested the open-source CMS DotNetNuke (DNN), which will provide Student Resource Services an easy-to-update platform for all website content.

”The primary goal of the Student Resource Services project was to provide a user friendly website for marketing purposes as well as for school users, including faculty, staff and students. Providing a well-designed portal for the students to log in and consume resources was key,” said Joe Marcallini, Vice President of Internet Strategy at SteadyRain. “Developing the website on a CMS gives the staff at Student Resources Services the ability to update content when they choose. They are also able to log in and generate reports on site traffic by users at the school.”

SteadyRain worked with Student Resource Services to develop and implement necessary web applications for the student population. The applications included a robust user registration management system for the Student Resource Services affiliated schools as well as the implementation of a Help Desk module for the internal staff. The Help Desk module will assist with the tracking of various company efforts and support tickets.

The outcome resulted in a cohesive web design across the two websites, seamless integration of the DotNetNuke content management system, and the development of very useful web application tools, which will be ready for use in the upcoming school year.
