Grapevine, TX, August 24, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- For the second consecutive year, guests of the Grapevine Wine Tours have chosen Homestead Winery as the city’s “Most Outstanding Winery.” La Buena Vida’s Red Headed Stepchild Sangria was voted its “Most Outstanding Wine.”
Every guest of the Grapevine Wine Tours between August 1, 2011, and July 31, 2012, was asked to vote on their favorite wine and winery. Homestead has been a frequent quarterly winner in the winery category since the tours began in July 2010, as well as the first annual award recipient. La Buena Vida’s wines have won three quarterly awards from tour guests. Its Red Headed Stepchild Sangria won in two consecutive quarters earlier this year, leading to its victory in the annual competition.
"All of us at La Buena Vida Vineyards are extremely excited about winning this prestigious award for our Red Headed Stepchild Sangria!” said Gina Puente, owner of Gina Puente Ventures, Inc., which owns and operates La Buena Vida Vineyards. “We take great pride in all our wines, and it's always gratifying when they earn this type of praise from our customers. We love being a part of Grapevine Wine Tours' success during their first two years. They provide such a fun and unique experience for locals and out-of-towners alike, and we look forward to serving their guests for many years to come!"
"We are doubly pleased to be named Grapevine's most outstanding winery two years in a row," said Gabe Parker, owner of Homestead Winery. "The Grapevine Wine Tours have proven to be one of the most exciting additions to our local tourism industry since they started two years ago, and they've driven a great deal of incremental traffic and visibility to all the wineries in Grapevine. We're genuinely proud that their guests found Homestead to be their favorite stop on the tours!"
Tours are available daily and rotate amongst all seven wineries in Grapevine: Cross Timbers Winery, Delaney Vineyards, D’Vine Wine, Farina’s Winery & Café, Homestead, La Buena Vida and Su Vino Winery. Every four-hour excursion includes tastings at two wineries, a delicious meal with wine at a third stop, a tour of Historic Grapevine led by a professional guide, and transportation to and from local hotels on one of two 25-passenger tour buses.
“As we embark on our third year in operation, my fellow owners and I are reminded that our company’s success is built on the outstanding wineries we tour,” said Robbyn Wysocki, co-owner of Grapevine Wine Tours. “Both Homestead and La Buena Vida are terrific partners, but so are Grapevine’s five other wineries. We’re proud to be a part of the fabric of the Grapevine area now, and we can’t wait to introduce thousands more guests to this extraordinary city and its award-winning wines over the next year and beyond.”
“Over the past year, we added two extraordinary tour guides and a second 25-passenger bus to meet the increasing demand for our popular excursions,” continued Wysocki. “We are also announcing today that we are filling in the last gap in our weekly schedule with Sunday dinner tours, beginning September 2nd.”
Lunch and dinner tours, now offered seven days a week, are affordably priced at $74.50 and $89.50, respectively. Group rates and customized packages – designed for corporate outings, conference and convention groups, fundraisers, birthday and anniversary celebrations and other special occasions – are also available. Several area hotels now offer special packages including the wine tours. See http://www.grapevinewinetours.com/pages/packages.html for more information.
In addition to the annual awards, Homestead Winery was awarded “Most Outstanding Winery” for the second quarter of 2012 (the final quarter of the annual award cycle) and its Homestead Red won the voting for “Most Outstanding Wine.”
