Crucial Domain for Republican Candidates Up for Grabs on Flippa.com

San Francisco, CA, August 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A Ron Paul supporter has acquired the domain RomneyRyan.com and put it up for auction on Flippa.com, the world’s largest marketplace for buying and selling websites.
The seller, Peter Crowley, bought several domains in 2010 combining the names of potential nominees to the Republican leadership. He struck gold on one of these combinations, having anticipated the Romney/Ryan nomination for the 2012 presidential election.
“My plan was definitely a bit of a gamble, but fortunately it has worked out for me. All along I was planning to sell the domain because I knew whatever I got for it would be a gain over the price I paid,” said Crowley. “But seeing the amount of traffic I've gotten and being able to post my political views to such a vast audience has been great.”
RomneyRyan.com attracts over 23,000 views per day. The site currently hosts several anti-Republican videos and links, reflecting the current owner’s political position.
Though the majority of sites listed on Flippa are established web-sites, Flippa CEO Dave Slutzkin notes a growing interest in high-end domain ownership.
“We have seen several political domain names auctioned off with success on Flippa, and the listing for RomneyRyan.com is no exception,” said Dave Slutzkin. “With only a few months to go before the American election, we expect the Republican party may be interested in this domain.”
The listing for RomneyRyan.com is open through August 31st at flippa.com/2803647. Bidding is currently at $8,000 but any offer of $100,000 or more will instantly end the auction.
