Pet Care Professional from Animal Amour, Inc. to Appear at Quest for Excellence Convention in Austin Texas

Pet Care Professional to Appear at Quest for Excellence Convention in Austin Texas. Owner of Animal Amour, Inc. wins Pet Sitters International Premier Pet Sitter Getaway. Winner receives an all-expense paid trip to the Quest for Excellence convention in Austin, Texas.

Costa Mesa, CA, August 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Joni Oldfield, Owner of Animal Amour, Inc. in Costa Mesa, Calif., has been selected as the winner of the Pet Sitters International (PSI) Premier Pet Sitter Getaway . The prize was part of a three-month member referral campaign. Since Joni helps others start and be successful in their own pet service business, she won. The campaign was the first of its kind to generate qualified member referrals for PSI, the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters. More than 600 members participated. Joni invites anyone interested in learning more about the advantages of hiring a professional pet sitter or becoming a professional pet sitter to visit their Web site: AnimalAmour.com

“I was thrilled to find out I had been selected! I’ve always wanted to go to Quest but just couldn’t make it happen,” Joni said. “Winning a trip to Quest is so wonderful and winning a one-on-one lunch with Patti Moran is the best part of it all.”

Each year, PSI hosts Quest for Excellence, the premier pet-sitter conference for professional pet sitters, where attendees across the country and abroad join together to explore business and pet-care topics and network with fellow pet-care professionals and industry experts.

Joni will receive a one-on-one lunch with Moran as part of an all-expense paid trip to Austin, Texas for Quest 2012.

In addition to her lunch with Moran, Joni is also excited about the many educational sessions she will be able to attend at Quest, including one on self-defense. “I noticed on the Quest agenda that there is a session in self-defense. That is a huge interest to me. I have a purple belt in Shaolin Kung Fu with USSD and am always relating the importance of safety and being aware of your surroundings to my staff of sitters. Being observant is so important. All women, in order to not be taken by surprise, should always have a self-defense plan.”

In 2001, after seeing a need in her area for qualified, professional pet sitters, Joni decided to leave her corporate job and start her own pet sitting business.

“It was very scary,” she said. “It was the equivalent to stepping off a cliff to give up a corporate job to become a pet sitter, but it’s the best thing I ever did.”

Animal Amour, Inc. now has multiple sitters on staff, including a dog trainer. They are a full service pet sitting, dog walking and dog training company.

Joni said she greatly values the personable staff of PSI and the inspiration of PSI Founder, Patti Moran. “One of the first things I did when starting my business was to buy her (Moran’s) book, Pet Sitting for Profit,” she said. “I still have my copy and I’ve read it cover to cover, except the chapter on ‘closing your business’. I can’t bring myself to read that chapter!

Recently, Animal Amour, Inc. has developed a personal, one-on-one consulting service in addition to pet sitting, helping other pet sitters start their businesses on a professional level. The tagline for Joni’s pet-sitting business is “Pets are my passion” and she said that passion is the key to her success. She has encouraged many other women to pursue their passion to become pet sitters. If you are interested in starting your own business please visit: www.animalamour.com and click on XO4Pets.
