General Membrane S.p.A Announces Introduction of EagleXtra APP Modified Bitumen to U.S. Market
Renowned Italian Roofing Manufacture Expands Global Operations to United States
Boston, MA, August 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- General Membrane S.p.A, a leading Italian manufacturer and distributor of waterproofing membranes, enters the U.S. market with the EagleXtra line. The first products launched will be EagleXtra APP-Smooth/Granular for heat welded applications and EagleXtra Smooth/Granular Self-Adhered (SA). Founded in 1993, General Membrane has products in over 60 countries and represents 40% of total production. The American distribution group, Complete Coverage, will oversee the sales and distribution of EagleXtra in all 50 states.
For heat welded applications, EagleXtra APP Smooth/Granular is a composite reinforcement of glass and polyester, a premium actactic polypropylene resins compound and specially formulated asphalt. It can be used for roofing, reroofing and flashing applications, and as a heat-welded cap sheet. EagleXtra APP Smooth/Granular can be applied directly over an acceptable substrate or can be used as part of a multi-ply system. It exceeds all minimum ASTM standards for tensile strength, puncture resistance and flexibility.
For applications where torching is undesirable or prohibited, EagleXtra Smooth/Granular SA membranes are made from high quality, self-adhered elasto-plastomeric APP-smooth/granular roofing membranes. The membranes have excellent dimensional stability to ensure high performance with no waterproof surface shrinkage, even in case of roofing subjected to high thermal stresses. EagleXtra SA meets stringent standards for tensile strength, elongation at break and tear strength.
