The Chef’s Academy Hosts Second Annual Triangle Chef Showdown to Fight Against Hunger

Local Culinary Institution Announces Fundraiser for Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina

Raleigh, NC, August 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Chef’s Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced that the school will host its second annual Triangle Chef Showdown on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on its Morrisville, N.C., campus, located at 2001 Carrington Mill Blvd. The event will include a competition between four local celebrity chefs, who will battle for votes from attendees by creating culinary masterpieces. Other featured activities will include a silent auction, live music, an open bar, and an incredible spread of student-made appetizers, pastries and desserts. Students from The Chef’s Academy will be preparing portions of each of the dishes made by the competing chefs for attendees to sample and vote for their favorites.

In conjunction with September’s Hunger Action Month, a national movement of food bank networks to end domestic hunger, the Triangle Chef Showdown will raise money for and awareness of local hunger through the donation of 100,000 meals. All proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The 2011 Triangle Chef Showdown event had more than 400 guests in attendance and donated 85,902 meals to the local Food Bank.
