Saree Draping and Indian Fashion Sale with Strand of Silk
Online retailer Strand of Silk held a sale event on August 25 at Adam Street Private Members Club. Participants had the chance to browse through pieces from beautiful collections of Indian fashion designers. Furthermore Strand of Silk presented some of the new 2012 Autumn Winter collections. Another highlight of the evening was a saree draping session conducted by a London based fashion blogger.
Sample pieces from leading Indian Fashion Designers including Ankur Modi Priyanka Modi (am:pm), Abraham & Thakore, Meera Mahadevia, Rajesh Pratap Singh and Usha Maheshwari were showcased for a selected audience. Attendees also got a sneak peek at some of the contemporary Indian outfits from the soon to be launched 2012 Autumn Winter collections of some Indian designers.
Another highlight of the evening was a Saree draping session conducted by Ms. Angharad of the blog Edible Glitter. Participants got a tutorial in draping and styling an original Indian Saree from the perspective of a UK Fashion Blogger. Contemporary Sarees in Printed Silk from Indian Designer Usha Maheshwari and Silk Sarees by Abraham & Thakore were used for the draping session.
Fashion experts from Strand of Silk were on hand to provide advice to the participants of the workshop. Styling of traditional Indian clothes in a contemporary and modern manner was the focus of the evening, so Sarees were combined with Shirts and Skirts to create stunning looks.
