Power Panel Selected as One of 2012’s Innovative Building Products

ABX Innovation Pavilion to Showcase Next-Generation Solar Panel System

Detroit, MI, August 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Power Panel, Inc., a Detroit-based solar panel system manufacturer, has been selected as one of 2012’s innovative building products and will showcase the next-generation solar panel system technology as one of the featured products of the Architecture Boston Expo (ABX) Innovation Pavilion 2012. Hosted by the Boston Society of Architects, ABX is one of the largest events for the design and construction industry in the country, and the largest regional conference and tradeshow. The Innovation Pavilion provides a venue to spotlight select new and innovative building products. “We look forward to educating the green building industry about the benefits of renewable heat and power from a single panel,” stated company President Garth Schultz. The ABX Innovation Pavilion will be open November 14-16, 2012, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Power Panel’s solar panel represents a technological breakthrough in its ability to efficiently capture both electricity and heat from the sun. Power Panel systems are designed to circulate water though the panel in a non-pressurized, drain-back system. This process collects thermal energy within the panel while actively cooling the photovoltaic (PV) cells, which increases electrical output. As a result, Power Panel systems are able to collect four times the amount of energy as compared to traditional PV panels. Thermal energy is stored by Power Panel’s patented modular thermal storage tank.

Power Panel systems are designed using proven technologies and materials adapted from the automotive industry and are easily scaled to optimize any size facility requirements. The design and construction of the solar panels create a rugged lightweight panel resistant to corrosion, while maintaining its aesthetic appeal and long-term durability for the life of the system. Power Panel’s ease of building integration, high energy density footprint and exceptional LEED values make Power Panel the future in Clean Heat & Energy solar technology for the built environment and distributed energy systems.
