Enhancements to GOSS Mobile Web Capabilities with New Version Launch

The latest version of GOSS iCM (9.1.0.3) for web content management includes several powerful features to help maintain content and engage audiences on the mobile web.

Plymouth, United Kingdom, September 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Recent analysis by the GOSS RESOLVE consulting team has shown significant up lift in mobile traffic. Of 1.2m unique visitors to 12 client sites in August 2012 shows that mobile access has now reached an average of 17.34% up from 11.23% in March. This is up from less than 6.15% on the same period last year. They predict that by March 2013 the majority of sites will have over 25% mobile visitors.

Therefore, in order to help clients on their mobile journey, GOSS iCM 9.1.0.3 now includes a new mobile simulator allowing web owners to view their website on a simulated mobile device. For content editors, the page can be viewed on the mobile simulator from within the content management system. This lets users see how their pages will be displayed on many mobile devices including the iPhones 4s, the Blackberry Bold 9900, and the latest Windows and Android smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S3 or HTC One X. A standalone version is also available for clients to view other mobile sites on a simulator, and offers full browsing with mouse and keyboard.

Additionally, improvements to the location picker on maps are released. The location picker allows users to specify on a mobile map the exact location of an item and submit the co-ordinates into the workflow. Such items might include an event, a pot hole or the location of a photo that is uploaded. The new functionality automatically adds the user’s location, which can then be moved if required. These tools further enhance the GOSS iCM and the GOSS Mobile Web solution.
