ASDA Introduces Donor Program for Community to Support Future Dentists

The American Student Dental Association launched a program where former members, dental schools and colleagues within organized dentistry can contribute to the association. All monetary donations will be put towards the operational costs and educational programs for ASDA’s 19,000 dental student members.

Chicago, IL, September 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The American Student Dental Association launched a program where former members, dental schools and colleagues within organized dentistry can contribute to the association. All monetary donations will be put towards the operational costs and educational programs for ASDA’s 19,000 dental student members.

“We have a strong alumni network of dentists who have personally benefited so much from their involvement in ASDA. They want to give back to the organization that taught them how to be a leader, and introduced them to mentors and life-long friends,” explained ASDA President Colleen Greene, Harvard ’13.

For years, dentists have contacted the association asking for ways they could contribute. Until ASDA’s Donor Program was developed, there was no vehicle to make donations.

“The Donor Program will further advance the association and support young dentists entering the profession,” said Dr. Dan Hammer, 2010-11 ASDA board member. “ASDA is recognized in the dental community for inspiring a lifelong passion for organized dentistry. With this program in place, its members will continue to receive the guidance and resources that make them leaders in their community and their practice.”

At this time, donations are not tax deductible, but it may be deductible as a business expense. Credit card donations can be made online or via check. Each contributor will receive an ASDA lapel pin as well as recognition in a print and digital edition of ASDA News.
