Can Plus-Sized Models Make It Big in Tinseltown?

Plus-size models are invited to work with Plus Model 411, a celebrity photographer, and local boutique to enhance their portfolio and possibly create notoriety.

Los Angeles, CA, September 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As part of their latest project, Plus Model 411 seeks to create a new wave of recognized names and faces in the plus-size modeling industry by bringing Los Angeles area plus-size models, boutiques, and professionals together for the first Plus Model 411 photo shoot. The photo shoot is scheduled for September 15, 2012 at Smash Studio in Long Beach, California and wardrobe is to be provided by Chic and Curvy Boutique.

Plus Model 411 is an active advocate of aspiring plus-size models receiving positive online exposure. On their website, aspiring plus-size models are encouraged to submit articles about their experiences, upload modeling photos, take note on tips for marketing themselves, and send encouraging words to their fellow aspiring models by way of commenting on featured articles. Plus Model 411 is very excited about adding an off-line method of support for this unique group of women by way of photo shoots.

In an area largely considered by many residents and nonresidents as the place to be for starting a successful career in acting, there have been many successful plus-size models to come out of the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. Plus Model 411 would like to add new names to the list. This photo shoot will bring together a powerful local brigade consisting of celebrity photographer Bill S. of Smash Studio, wardrobe provided by Chic and Curvy Boutique, an Inglewood based distributor of stylish selections for the plus-size woman, and professionals for hair-styling and make-up artistry.

Plus Model 411 has limited the spots available for plus-size models to only 5. This was done to maximize the time each model has for their hair, make-up, dress, and time in front of the camera during the photo shoot. Models will receive three looks: Head shot, Beauty, and Fashion. One photo in each category will receive professional retouching and will be released to the model and production team for marketing and to add into their portfolios. The model will also appear in the behind-the-scenes video that will be taken.

Retouched photos will be presented to Chic and Curvy Boutique for possible inclusion on their website, http://www.chicandcurvy.com/boutique and or at their retail location opening Monday, September 10th at 204 S. Market Street, Inglewood, CA. Plus Model 411 asks aspiring models to imagine themselves as models for internet stores and physical locations such as this. “In interviewing aspiring models, many remark that they would like to achieve face recognition, and that is just one of the goals of this photo shoot,” states Desiree Alysse of Plus Model 411.

“It is also important to showcase that opportunities can be created within the plus-size community. More collaborations such as this need to take place. It helps everyone involved,” says Desiree. To participate in this photo shoot, booking is currently open at http://www.plusmodel411.com/photo-shoot-september-15.

Members of the media are invited to attend the photo shoot, speak with the models, and document what Plus Model 411 plans to mark as the first of many local plus-size industry collaborations.
