StreamCourse.com Brings Instant HD Video of Every Hole -- Plus Course Pro Tips -- to the Classic Golf Club

Stream Course, LLC and RMG Club's The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway, WA have teamed to give golfers at the club near Tacoma, WA powerful technology. Through StreamCourse.com, golfers will simply scan a QR code near each tee box with a smartphone and be presented with streaming HD video of the best way to play the hole and see ground and aerial video of the hole and its hazards.

Spanaway, WA, September 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Stream Course, LLC today announced that StreamCourse.com, its new HD video guide and overview of the holes at the best golf courses in the country, will launch shortly at PGA pro Ryan Moore’s RMG Golf Management Spanaway course, The Classic Golf Club.

Streamcourse.com provides immediate high-definition streaming video of each hole on the course. The video, which can be viewed on almost any smartphone or smart-device, shows players aerial and ground views of the hole to be played, and adds comments and tips from the course pro about the best strategies for the drive and approach as well as hazards to avoid.

Stream Course LLC president and founder Scott Tanner had the idea to combine video and golf while having dinner with a friend. Tanner says, “We were talking about our activities for the day, and my friend said that he’d played a round of golf at an unfamiliar course—and shot way above his normal average. I realized right then that I could combine the type of reality video I produce for the music and automotive retail industries with the game of golf; it’s a perfect pairing.”

The complex process of creating the streamcourse.com product requires a number of talented professionals and some very specialized equipment. Ground-based HD video provides players with eye-level views and reference points, while the aerial HD video delivers a perfect overview of the fairway, hazards and green at each hole. Introduction to each hole, along with playing tips and cautions about hazards, comes from the course pro. The raw video is then distilled and edited into smooth, seamless and short videos that showcase each hole on the course. These videos are uploaded to video hosting pages (VHPs) on the World Wide Web and made ready for streaming to virtually any web-friendly device.

Ease of use for golfers was an absolute necessity when developing streamcourse.com. Fortunately, much of the multi-platform technology incorporated into the product makes it simple to use on any smartphone, tablet, pc or Mac. It’s like viewing any streaming video or movie on your phone (think YouTube).

In addition, QR (quick response) codes will be placed at the tee box for each hole on the course. These codes, which are found in many ads, on product packaging, and even realtors’ signs, act as “instant gateways” to the corresponding video hosting page for that particular hole. Using the smartphone camera and a small, free downloadable program (available for i-phone, Android, pc, or Mac), the player simply scans the code to begin the streaming video. It’s the 21st century evolution of the two-dimensional course drawing or map.

RMG Golf Management’s other courses, the Oakbrook Golf Club in Lakewood, WA, and McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, WA, will feature streamcourse.com video in the near future.
