Albany, GA, September 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- X-tratainment,Inc. is pleased to announce the installation of Albany's Ray Charles Music Festival. The event is to be held in two parts: September 23, 2012, the Ray Charles Birthday Celebration at the Ray Charles Plaza in downtown Albany, Georgia featuring his daughter Sheila Raye Charles singing in his honor and the main event will take place on October 27, 2012, the actual Albany's Ray Charles Music Festival, on Jackson and Highland Streets in the Historical Downtown Black Business District. During the festival, Sheila Raye Charles is slated to sing an accapella version of Georgia On My Mind and other hits of her legendary father. The festival will be opened by the world famous The Original 5 Blind Boys of Mississippi featuring our hometown hero, Mr. Willie Moody. Additionally, local, regional, and national acts will round off the event roster.

The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia has been named a beneficiary of partial proceeds from the 2012 Albany's Ray Charles celebrations. The events organizer and X-tratainment executive, Thomas Swain, stated “The Coalition was selected because of their mission to fight cancer in South Georgia and because all of their funding and programs exclusively serve the people of this area through cancer education, research, and screening. Swain says he also chose the Cancer Coalition because both he and his wife are cancer survivors.

“We are excited to be a part of this historical event and look forward to a great turn out," said Cancer Coalition CEO, Diane Fletcher. The October 27, 2012 event includes plans for a 1000 balloon fly off in downtown Albany in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all cancer survivors.
