Mira Telecom rewarded the winners of IT creation contest "Mira Telecom challenges you – Play to Win!," launched in partnership with the National College Cantemir Vodă and WitchHut. The three winners, all pupils at the National College, were rewarded with high tech IT& telecom equipment.

Bucharest, Romania, September 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The contest is part of a series of projects through which Mira Telecom supports and encourages reaching performance in education. The programme "Mira Telecom Student - Programming the future" is focused on the promotion and support of youth with remarkable school results.

The winner of the first place, Adrian Brojbeanu, a 11th B grade pupil, was rewarded for his creativity with an iPad 2 Apple 16GB 3G. Octav Lupu, a 9th grade pupil, ranking 2nd, won a Sony PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi console. Ovidiu Nica, a 9th B grade student, ranked 3rd and the award he received was a mobile phone Samsung S7500 Galaxy Ace Plus.

The participants challenged their talent and imagination in creating interactive Flash games, during the summer holidays. The organizers proposed a theme called "Puzzle" and the winners were selected upon technical criteria and creativity.

“Boucy Ball,” the game I created is based on a small gravity system where the ball reaches the maximum value of 10 pixels per frame. The bouncy ball is in trouble again and has to reach its virtual home. The player will meet on his or her way both obstacles and prizes. Each hamburger he or she receives every time he or she surpasses an obstacle accounts for 10 points, that add to the final score, displayed on the last page if the player wins, but also on the right upper corner all through the game. There are also obstacles that cut the number of points collected by the player, if they are not surpassed and place the player at the beginning of the level. The player’s challenge is to pass the 6 levels using the keyboard arrows,” Adrian Brojbeanu, the winner of the first place explained.

“We are glad that this contest stirred the interest of Cantemir Vodă College pupils, even if it was launched during the summer holidays. Their involvement and ambition to create original games reconfirmed us the fact that Romania benefits from valuable IT human capital and it is important to become aware of this and support these valuable young people on their way through remarkable performances,” said Stelian Ilie, President of Mira Telecom.

The winners were designated upon the votes expressed by viewers. All the games were posted and voted on the website www.ejocuri.ro , the most visited games portal in Romania.

The contest results were announced on September 10th on www.miratelecom.ro/student website and on the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/mira.telecom.
