About the author:

Gary Agnew has been active in the recovery community for more than thirty years. His own recovery has been part of this journey. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University and he earned his master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Central Connecticut State University. Along with being a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor he is a member of the Connecticut Counseling Association. Gary has experience in individual counseling, group therapy, teaching, program development, supervision and lecturing at university and treatment settings. His present ministry is a Twelve Step Bible study that meets at a Christian retreat center, “My Fathers House,” in Moodus, Connecticut. This is Gary’s second book on the spiritual insights to recovery and personal growth. He makes his home in Connecticut with his wife, Joyce, who is a school counselor working with middle school children. They live near a lake with their Standard Poodles, Shiloh and Tanner and also their Rag Doll cat Vashti, who is working towards her certification as a therapy partner cat.
