Crown Bingo Digs Deep and Raises Over £10,000 for Deserving Charities

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, September 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On the second Wednesday of every month between 7pm and 9pm, Crown Bingo play host to charity games where 50% of all bingo prize pots are donated to a nominated charity. This month’s charity bingo night took place on Wednesday 12th September and raised £159.45 for the working animals charity SPANA. SPANA's emergency programme helps animals and the communities who depend on them, whenever and wherever they're needed during conflict, drought and natural disasters.

Crown Bingo started Charity Bingo back in January 2008, and has since raised over £10,000 for nominated charities including Cancer Research UK, Help for Heroes, and the National Autism Society. Players are invited to nominate a local or national charity they are passionate about via the Crown Bingo charity page, and facebook page. Each December, Crown Bingo donates the Charity Bingo prize pool to the EAAA ( East Anglian Air Ambulance), which chat room host CM Sapphire raises money for by adorning her home in fantastic Christmas lights and decorations.

Charity bingo games are played in the same way as normal bingo games, except 50% of the total prize pot is matched by Crown Bingo and donated to the charity of the month, so players still get the excitement of winning a prize for themselves, but also get the satisfaction of helping a good cause by participating. And at Crown Bingo, it’s not just the players who are in fundraising spirits, in May 2012 the girls from the Crown Bingo office ran the Race For Life and raised £750. The Customer Service Team are also due to take part in the 5K Big Fun Run in aid of the NSPCC this October.
