AccelNow and ETSU Research Foundation Host Angel Resource Institute’s “Overview of Angel Investing” Seminar

Johnson City, TN, September 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The start-up business accelerator AccelNow in conjunction with the ETSU Research Foundation will host the Angel Resource Institute as they put on an educational seminar on angel investing at The Millennium Centre, 2001 Millennium Place, Johnson City, TN 37604 on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012.

This is a full-day seminar beginning at 8:00a.m. and concluding at 5:00p.m. when a cash bar will be open from 5:00 – 7:00p.m.

The seminar will provide an overview of the angel investing process. Comprised of a balance of expert presentations, panel discussions, and small group case studies, it is designed to be highly interactive for an audience of 25 to 50 participants. A faculty of experienced angel investors, serial entrepreneurs and expert service providers will deliver the content. The seminar is segmented with several opportunities to encourage networking between participants and the faculty, including refreshment breaks, a luncheon and a cocktail party at the end of the event.

Angel Resource Institute is the educational arm of the international organization The Angel Capital Association (ACA). The ACA provides professional development for angel groups, family offices and private investors, delivers services and benefits to support the success of ACA member portfolio companies and serves as the promotional voice for the North American angel community and the public policy voice for the US professional angel community.

“A critical part of the ‘Entrepreneurial Ecosystem’ that AccelNow is endeavoring to foster in the Northeast Tennessee region is access to angel capital,” said Dave Lawrence, Executive Director of business accelerator AccelNow in Johnson City. Accelnow is organizing the seminar. “Development of an angel investor network will improve access to capital for entrepreneurs and improve the quality and quantity of investment opportunities that our angel investors in Northeast TN are exposed to,” continued Lawrence.

Those encouraged to attend the seminar include, but are not limited to: Successful entrepreneurs who have exited from their businesses and have an interest in staying involved in early stage companies, high net-worth individuals with senior business experience who now have the time and interest in investing in early stage companies, angel investors who have done from one to three deals, community leaders and entrepreneurial support professionals who are interested in promoting angel investing in their communities.

Cost for the “Overview of Angel Investing” Seminar is Free. While the event is open to the public, pre-registration is required.
