The Center for Health and Healing is Pleased to Announce the Addition of a New Therapist

New Orleans, LA, September 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Center for Health and Healing is pleased to announce the addition of a new therapist to The Center as an independent contractor. Ellen Santolucito is a native New Orleanian. She attended college at the University of New Orleans where she received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and her Masters degree in Counseling Education. Ellen has held professional licenses and has practiced in the states of Louisiana, North Alabama, Alabama and Texas. Ellen has 15 years of training and experience in treating both mental health and substance use disorders. Her specialty areas are the treatment of anxiety-related issues ranging from mild to severe–including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder–and issues related to grief and loss.

Other areas that Ellen specializes in include depression, couples counseling and family therapy. She is skilled in working with pre-adolescent and adolescent children. Since hurricane Katrina, Ellen has focused her continued education on the effects of trauma related to the mind, body and soul of an individual. She has specialized training in relaxation and meditation techniques for use with anxiety and depression. Other areas of focused treatment include issues related to adjustment, self-esteem and co-dependency.

Ellen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Louisiana and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

The Center for Health and Healing is a New Orleans Counseling and Therapy center. Adrienne Hennessey is the owner and primary therapist at The Center for Health and Healing. She is originally from Florida where she attended the University of Florida before obtaining her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from The City College of New York. After developing and managing a treatment curriculum of individual, group and family therapy for individuals with both mental health and addiction issues in Brooklyn, New York she relocated her practice to New Orleans full time in 2011.

Adrienne has specialized training and experience in assisting clients in working with issues related to depression, anxiety, and interpersonal relationships—including couples and family counseling, communication and assertiveness training, anger management and stress management. Adrienne’s practice also devotes attention to intersections of physical and mental health—including topics such as addiction, physical illness, chronic pain, sexuality, and the physical impacts of stress on the body. She is also an experienced group therapist, having led support groups and conducted therapy groups for women and men coping with terminal illness, bereavement, addiction, trauma and sexual identity issues.

Adrienne is licensed in both counseling and chemical dependency treatment. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in the state of Louisiana. At the national level Adrienne’s certifications include National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Human Services Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP). She is also an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC) and a provider of Department of Transportation (DOT) Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations. In addition to her private practice work, Adrienne is available as a consultant, trainer and public speaker.
