South Nassau Communities Hospital Selects New Radiology Services Partner

Radisphere will collaborate with South Nassau’s medical staff to provide timely and accurate diagnoses. Radisphere’s radiologists are board certified, located in the United States and have either academic or fellowship experience.

Oceanside, NY, September 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- South Nassau Communities Hospital has partnered with Radisphere National Radiology Group to significantly increase the hospital’s capacity to provide medical imaging services, subspecialty radiology coverage, and final reports 24/7/365.

“After a thorough evaluation of many radiology providers, we selected Radisphere because of its strong commitment to quality standards, its customer-service approach to referring physicians, and its subspecialty expertise,” said Sheila D’Nodal, M.D., Vice President of Ambulatory Services. “Radisphere’s delivery model meets our requirements of helping improve the patient care experience and controlling spending without sacrificing quality. This proven model will work well for South Nassau, and it will become sought after in the years to come.”

Through a combination of local onsite radiologists and a dedicated team of subspecialty teleradiologists, Radisphere will collaborate with South Nassau’s medical staff to provide timely and accurate diagnoses for the highest levels of patient care. Radisphere employs radiologists with expertise in areas including Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal, Cardiovascular, Nuclear Medicine, Body, Women’s Imaging, Pediatric, Interventional Radiology and Emergency Department Radiology. Radisphere’s radiologists are board certified, located in the United States and have either academic or fellowship experience.

To better collaborate and communicate with Radisphere’s radiologists, South Nassau physicians will use Radisphere’s iPhone® application to access critical diagnostic information at the point of patient care. The secure application not only facilitates the delivery of radiologic reports and critical findings, but it also enables instant and direct communication between physicians and radiologists when consultations are needed. Armed with up-to-date diagnostic information, physicians are better equipped to provide quality patient care based on timely and comprehensive radiologist results.

“In this era of healthcare reform, South Nassau realizes it must provide radiology services that will increase the level of accountability to satisfy medical staff requirements and effectively treat patients,” said Frank Seidelmann, D.O., Radisphere’s co-founder and Chief Medical Officer. “Imaging is a significant clinical and cost component of most major diseases, from cancer and cardiovascular disease to obesity and stroke. A strong radiology partner at the start of the treatment process can help physicians make more informed diagnoses so that they can provide the highest quality of care to their patients as efficiently as possible.”
