Beauty Goes Green in Manhattan to Benefit Animal Charity PETA

Beautiful faces and humane hearts will come together at the US Veg Corp’s “Beauty Goes Green” event on Monday, September 24, 7-9:30 p.m., at the Bar at the Dream Hotel in Midtown.

New York, NY, September 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Beautiful faces and humane hearts will come together at the US Veg Corp’s “Beauty Goes Green” event on Monday, September 24, 7-9:30 p.m., at the Bar at the Dream Hotel in Midtown.

Mingling among the attendees in the hotel’s ground floor bar will be the famous Lettuce Ladies—who wear bikinis made out of lettuce leaves--from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). A PETA spokesperson will also be on hand to speak about vegan beauty products for skin and hair.

The “vegan” designation normally refers to a plant-based diet in which no meat or dairy products are consumed. But when it comes to cosmetics, the term generally means that no animals are involved in the testing phase. At Beauty Goes Green, there will be product samples from a variety of vegan beauty companies, including:

Every Day Minerals, which offers high-quality make-up and skin care products
Bodyceuticals, featuring organic body oils and sprays
Bold For Men, with luxury shaving gels
Brittanie’s Thyme, offering organic skin products and bug repellent

The cost for the evening is a suggested donation at the door.
